The metaverse is all about people. It augments human experience by empowering people to create and engage in an extended and shared space that seamlessly blends the physical and the virtual worlds. In this workshop, the speaker will give an overview of the extended reality (XR) technologies (e.g., virtual reality, augmented reality, mixed reality and brain-human interface) and how they constitute an essential component that shapes the metaverse and elevates the human experience.

About the speaker:
Dr Loretta Choi is a lecturer of the Department of Computer Science at the University of Hong Kong. Her research interests are in the area of visual computing, in particular computer graphics, visualization and XR technologies. Her current work includes projects on 3D live avatar, XR analytics, virtual classroom and medical AI.
