Inspired by the remarkable dexterity of animals in nature and the large language models (LLM), the HKU AI for Smart Robotics team is committed to creating an intelligent robot system. Through collaborative work on real-world projects, we continuously accumulate valuable hands-on experience in the field of robotics. Our recent participation in the ICRA’s Robot Challenge, where we achieved third place in the manual category, standing alongside esteemed institutions such as MIT and CMU.

Mechanical design and build of quadruped robots.
Prior experience with SolidWorks, CAD software, mechanical design and build is a bonus.
Development of motor control and microcontroller control systems.
Previous experience with motor control, microcontroller programming, specifically in C++, using Keil, and circuit design and manufacturing is a bonus.
Quadruped robot’s whole body control, model predictive control and state estimation.
Prior experience with Automatic control theory and practice, motor or robot control, C++ or python is a bonus.
Development and deployment of sensing devices such as cameras and radars.
Prior experience with Computer Vision, Speech Recognition, SLAM is a bonus.
Development and application of human-computer interaction for robots. Familiar with Natural Language Processing and the Large Lagrange Model is a bonus.
But what we highly value is an eagerness to learn.
