The Future of DNA Engineering

HKU iGEM team 2023 is a team of undergraduate students from different fields, aiming at building safe and sustainable projects that serve the public interest. We participate in the International Genetically Engineered Machine Competition. We have chosen immunotherapy as our topic this year, tackling the obstacle of treating solid tumour with new approaches. Over years, HKU IGEM team have won multiple awards, welcoming students from different cohort, establish platforms of synthetic biology accessible for all students.

Participants will be divided into three groups and rotate the follow three activities: 1. Electrophoresis Evidence: Understanding the Crime Scene (Gel electrophoresis) (45 minutes) (in Wet Lab) 2. Gene Quest: The CRISPR Challenge (Interactive card games) (45 minutes) (in Makerspace A) 3. BioBuilder’s Coding Challenge (Programming challenge) (45 minutes) (in Makerspace A) |
