Notes to showcasing teams
Step 1: Submit project details
(Priority for projects submitted on or before 12noon
on May 10, 2022 (Tuesday) )
  • Please submit the project details via the following URL. 
  • You may modify your submitted project at anytime.
  • The following information about your project is required.
    1. Topic of the project;
    2. Team supervisor(s);
    3. Team leader (Name, study programme, contact phone, email);
    4. Team members (Name, study programme);
    5. Short summary/description of the project (Around 100 words);
    6. Project cover image;
    7. Project poster 594mm width * 841mm height (A1 size) with 150dpi (3508 * 4967 pixels)
    8. Project short video (Please provide a link, preferably at one minute. Note: The selection panel for the Inno Show Award will only review the first one minute of the project video)
  • Optional information such as other project images, project website, FB, IG, …etc can also be provided.
  • Inno Show committee will create a project page for your project on the Inno Show website, which is publicly accessible.
Step 2: Sneak preview of the
virtual showroom and win a souvenir (May 30)
Innovation Academy will open the virtual showroom for Inno Show on May 30, 2022 (Monday).
  • Please invite your friends to come and have a sneak preview and possibly win a souvenir (TBA)
Step 3: Participate in the
Physical showcase with your prototype
(May 31, 1pm-3pm)

Poster printing

There are two arrangement options for poster printing:
  1. Arrangement 1. The project team submits the poster in soft copy through Step 1  for Innovation Wing team to do the printing for the project team.
  2. Arrangement 2. The project team prints the poster by themselves. Please bring the receipt to Innovation Wing Office for reimbursement. Each project team can reimburse at most $100.

Step 4: Bring your laptop to Inno Wing and set up your physical project demo
(May 31, 12nn - 1pm)
  • Each project group will be assigned a project booth in a venue inside Innovation Wing.
  • There will be a few onsite participants and online participants through the virtual showroom.
  • You will come to Innovation Wing to set up your physical demo, and use your laptop to connect to the virtual showroom. 
  • We will provide electricity and a table.
  • Please come to the Innovation Wing Office to retrieve your poster (if your project has requested Innovation Wing to print the poster).
  • The project group should report to the registration area and then set up the project booth with a poster.

Step 5: Give 4 mins presentation for Inno Show award judging and enjoy the Inno Show Event (May 31, 1pm - 3pm)
Details of the project exhibition are as follows:
  • Date: May 31, 2022 (Tuesday)
  • Tentative time: 1pm – 3pm (award ceremony at 3pm, free mingling time follows until 3:30pm)
  • Venue: Tam Wing Fan Innovation Wing

Arrangements

  1. 1pm-3pm: Each project group should have at least one student to man your project booth between 1pm – 3pm, so that the judges can find someone there to demonstrate the project to them.
  2. 1pm-2pm: 
    Each group will be given 4 mins to demonstrate your project + 2 mins Q&A to the Judges physically in Innovation Wing (the demonstration will be live broadcasted to the virtual showroom and recorded). 
  3. After the presentation, we will upload the demo recording to the virtual showroom. Project groups will continue to interact with other on-site and online participants and ask them to vote for your project for the Super “GOOD JOB!” Project Award.
  4. Please bring a notebook to connect to the virtual showroom during the exhibition for interacting with the virtual participants as well.
  5. A table will be provided for each project group to set up demonstrations.
  6. Your notebook can access the Internet through HKU WiFi Network. Make sure that the network card of your notebook has been registered to use HKU ACEnet, and select “University WiFi” to connect.
