The print jobs to 3D printers in HKU are handled manually by making a schedule in the booking system, instead of a cloud 3D print submission system.​

The app aims to make it easier for students and teachers to submit jobs to HKU’s 3D printers by automating the process of submitting new jobs​​. It maximizes the efficiency of printing new jobs​. Features like auto-scheduling of jobs allows to minimize the empty time between jobs​.

And a approval system can reject invalid prints​ and make printing managed by tutors or approved users​, avoiding inexperienced users to use wrong filament or break the printer​.

Our project A Grade is a mobile app which can help us students get focus when studying but is more than that. We have 5 function now in total, namely Pomodoro, ToDoList, Study Room Statistics and Ranking. A Pomodoro will help user stay focused on their task; A ToDoList is best for user to clear their tasks; A study room is a wonderful place for students to keep focus together and encourage each other; Concrete statistics graphs will let our users kwon themselves better. Ranking act as a in a perfect incentive for user to keep on study and stay focused. Our app is designed to let user study in a relaxing mode. The user will has cute turtles keep him/her company. Hope that our project can help student get better study experience!

HKU Robocon 2022 @ 7th Inno Show

The annual Robocon competition project allows HKU engineering students from different disciplines to design and fabricate innovative robots with an integration of various advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence, computer vision, and real-time embedded control. Besides, it provides hands-on experiences on product design, prototyping, CNC machining, design and fabrication of electric circuit and PCB, control program development, etc.

Furthermore, senior members mentor junior members in each year and hence valuable experiences, knowledge, and skills for design and fabrication of robots can be sustained for next year’s competition. In addition, it enables the HKU students to exchange their knowledge and skills with students from local and other countries’ universities. Therefore, it motivates the students to engage in experiential learning via exploring and integrating various advanced technologies. As a result, students’ innovation and teamwork abilities would be enhanced.

QuestBoard

The idea of QuestBoard comes from quest boards in RPGs where dispatchers post quests, and the heroes accept quests. Heroes are people who start their adventures and earn their living by completing challenging quests. Dispatchers are people who post quests, and they usually give rewards to the heroes who complete their quests in return. Our app is an app which brings this system into real life.

Unlike existing freelancer platforms and job seeking platforms, QuestBoard focuses on daily tasks which utilize all kinds of skills and are more flexible. Everyone can be heroes with their kindness, and they can earn rewards by finishing quests.

Foodtech – Granola Machine (Nola)

Nola is here to enable busy, health-conscious people to make fresh and healthy snacks. We have two main parts to our project; The Nola Machine, which turns ingredients into a granola bar, and the food, namely the Nola Mix (A granola mix) and the syrup as a binder that can be put into the Nola Machine to make the granola bars. This way, users don’t have to worry about buying ingredients and just have to buy our ingredient pack and syrup to put into the machine.

As Asian students, we’ve long tolerated the traditional education experience. Rote learning, Disorientation, Societal Pressure, we have been through it all. The long-term consequence is that students become dependent on extrinsic factors (social or parental pressure) and lose sight of what they truly enjoy studying.

LEAN Platform – an online study ecosystem where students can livestream their learning sessions solo or with others and earn tokens for their study time. These tokens can be used to redeem rewards from entertainment brands (fun) or youth education organisations (growth). LEAN incentivizes students’ learning with rewards by brands that can post for free to attract customers. We address the missing link between what students like and the learning journey. Furthermore, we connect with educational institutions to provide growth rewards that foster self-directed learning.
